Newcastle eyeing £44m coup for AC Milan maestro Sandro Tonali

|

Newcastle United are hoping to complete a transfer for AC Milan ace Sandro Tonali this summer and could complete their midfield with the Italy international’s signature.

Toon manager Eddie Howe has worked wonders for the outfit since his appointment at the backend of 2021, preceded by the lucrative PIF takeover that has pumped fresh and opulent life into St. James’s Park.

And while the thriving Premier League side exceeded expectations and secured Champions League football with a fourth-placed finish this term – ahead of the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea – bolstering the ranks with someone like Tonali could prove to be an auspicious move.

According to The Athletic, Newcastle are looking to forge a (£44m) swoop for the dynamic central star and beat Chelsea in the pursuit, and triumph would only emphasise the newfound might of the Tyneside giants.

How good is Sandro Tonali?
