OPINION
Newcastle United were in a decent run of form before their trip to Aston Villa on Monday and whatever shred of hope fans had about manager Steve Bruce seems to have been washed away with an interview he gave after defeat in the West Midlands. It was a wretched display by the Magpies as they lost 2-0 at Villa Park. As shown on Newcastle’s official Twitter account, Bruce admitted it was not a good outing by his men and said that they must improve to a level they have already been at this season. Of course, Newcastle fans were not at all happy with what the manager said. Bruce could have said anything in this interview and would have found himself criticised by fans. People should not be so mad about the interview and more about the actual match itself. Bruce got a lot wrong on the night and the players hardly put in any effort either. The sooner we can all move on from that match, the better.
