Friday evening was bittersweet for Newcastle fans. On the one hand, they had to sit and watch as one of their former favourites bagged his first goals for his new club, on the other those goals helped them limp out of the bottom three. Ayoze Perez was in disgustingly inspired form for  City against in the weekend’s first clash, scoring a hat trick as ran riot and won 9-0. From a Magpies’ perspective, the result was a very welcome one as the Saints’ capitulation saw them slip beneath Steve Bruce’s men on goal difference, but on a personal level, it was difficult to see the Spaniard cause so much chaos when United are struggling so badly for goals themselves. They have the joint lowest total in the Premier League going into this weekend, as per the BBC, and how they could use some of Perez’s magic right about now. This was the first time that Leicester properly got a taste of how good he can truly be, and his display was nothing short of magnificent. No doubt will be grateful for him getting them out of the bottom three, but it will be a real double-edged sword.
