Newcastle United are specifically focusing on the Bundesliga to scout potential target for the transfer window, according to the Chronicle.
The newspaper claim on their website that the Magpies have singled out the German league as one that is most similar to the Premier League in terms of intensity and pressure.
The Chronicle report that Newcastle worked with the ROGON agency in the summer due to their excellent contacts in the Bundesliga which helped them secure a deal with Hoffenheim for Joelinton in the summer.
Another summer signing, Allan Saint-Maximin, is also one of ROGON’s clients as Newcastle set their sights on the January transfer window.

Newcastle need to think of the areas they need to improve in before targeting a specific league for potential talent in the January window. There may be many similarities between the Bundesliga and the Premier League, but not all of the best players in the English top-flight are from the German league and they must broaden their horizons. The signing of Joelinton hasn’t exactly worked so far, as the Brazilian has struggled to make much if any impact at St James’ Park in terms of goals. They may have been impressed with the way that the striker has adapted physically, but you need much more than just strength to make an impact in the Premier League, and Joelinton is finding that out. The 23-year-old’s single goal has come in 425 minutes of action, and despite averaging two shots on goal per game according to WhoScored, he has struggled. Newcastle must not put all of their eggs in one basket, and look to scout talent from around Europe.
