OPINION
Fabian Schar is one of the best players that Newcastle United have and you have to take your hat off to the Switzerland international for his amazing pass that led to Yoshinori Muto’s goal in the penalty shoot-out defeat against Leicester on Wednesday night. Schar’s crossfield pass in the build-up to the goal was not what you would expect to see from a player in a Steve Bruce side, so it is a good job that Rafa Benitez snapped up the ball-playing centre-back last summer. Schar’s pass was a thing of beauty and it is not a shock to see how some fans on Twitter were blown away by how good it was. Newcastle might have to score a lot of goals this season from Schar’s long-range passes. The Swiss defender knows how to pick out his team-mates from distance with heat-seeking missiles from his foot. Let’s see more of that in the Premier League, please.
