Rangers star Alfredo Morelos is a striker who isn’t far away from the headlines at all times throughout the season – whether that be from his goals or his character controversy.

Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez is said to be looking at the Ibrox forward this summer and will reportedly sell three of his fringe striker to fund a £20million move for the Colombian.

According to Spanish publication Don Balon, Dwight Gayle, Joselu and Yoshinori Muto will be sold to make the move possible.

If the right man is found to replace these three who have failed to make an impact in the top-flight for Newcastle then the risk could reap massive rewards for the Magpies.

Newcastle need a striker who can cause problems at all times and they temporarily found their man last season with the loan signing of Venezuelan Salomon Rondon, but must now find a permanent replacement.

Morelos could be just that man for Benitez but the Spaniard will need to teach his potential new striker to control his emotions and put them into his determination to score consistent goals in the Premier League.

At 22-years-old Morelos could prove to be a great piece of business for Newcastle with the Colombian having a great record in front of goal in Scotland this campaign. The three-cap international scored 30 goals and gained 11 assists in his 48 appearances for Steven Gerrard’s team and his attitude could be perfect for English football.

His determination and work ethic shows he is ready for any challenge but the risk that comes with that is his opponents’ ability to easily wind him up. Alongside his goals, the forward has received four red cards this season with this being the major risk in a potential move.

If Benitez can transform Morelos’ risk of a meltdown, the Colombian could be the perfect striker to push Newcastle further up the Premier League table for many years to come.
