Napoli are set to test Newcastle United’s resolve with a move for Ayoze Perez, according to the Northern Echo.
The Spaniard has been in fine form, hitting 12 goals so far this season, and has season his value peak off the back of a series of stellar performances.
It is understood that the Toon Army value him at around £20 million, and the Serie A outfit are willing to make him one of their key attacking targets this summer.

This would be a disaster for Newcastle. Perez has been the Toon Army’s most impressive player over the past couple of months, and the prospect of losing him this summer will be one that fills fans with dread. It speaks volumes as to just how far he has come, however, that a club of Napoli’s stature are interested in snapping him up. It wasn’t too long ago that he seemed to be the whipping boy for the Geordie faithful, but now, with him mining his richest vein of form to date, it is hard to imagine him being met with anything other than adoration on Tyneside. Hopefully he doesn’t decide to jump ship in the summer, but if he does go, you can bet that the Magpies will ensure they get as heft a fee as they possibly can for player who has toiled his way to the status of star man at St. James’ Park.
