Newcastle should go all out for Fraser

Ryan Fraser has been one of the understated breakout stars of this season.

The Bournemouth winger has been in sublime form down on the south coast, scoring seven and setting up 14 in the league so far this season.

Only Eden Hazard has created more in the top flight, and it’s easy to see why the Scot is being linked with a move away from the Cherries in the summer.

For their part, Eddie Howe’s men would be gutted to lose him for obvious reasons, but according to the Daily Mail, that prospect is becoming an ever-increasing likelihood.

Fraser has so far rebuffed any attempts to tie him down to a new deal, with his current contract set to expire next summer.

As fears grow in Bournemouth that he could be headed for the exit door, the report suggests that Newcastle United are one of the sides monitoring his situation.

Perhaps that is a little surprising, given the level of ambition it would take to land the winger in the face of competition from some of the bigger clubs in the Premier League, but it is certainly a promising sign with regards to where the Magpies are aiming their sights these days.

The Toon Army should go all to snap him up, that much is clear.

They look a vastly improved side since bringing in Miguel Almiron in January, and the prospect of adding Fraser to a frontline that already boasts Salomon Rondon and Ayoze Perez as well is enough to get mouths watering at St. James’ Park.

The extra creative dimension that he would bring, that extra little bit of directness in the final third, could well prove to be the missing ingredient to turn Newcastle into a top half team.
