Jonjo Shelvey has reportedly been the subject of a bid worth £20million and it appears to have divided a section of Newcastle United fans on Twitter. The Chronicle has reported that there is an eight-figure offer on the table for Shelvey, who is attracting interest from West Ham as they could offer the ex-Charlton midfielder the chance to return to London. £20million is a lot of money for someone who has blown hot and cold this season and for someone who has also been very injury prone lately and the Newcastle fans that are suggesting the club should offload the midfielder have a point. Rafa Benitez has made some good signings despite his shoestring budget at St James’ Park and if he is still in charge in the summer, he might use that money wisely to find a replacement who is an upgrade on the England international. Those wanting Shelvey to stay have a good case, but £20million is a lot of money for someone who is not irreplaceable.
