It was definitely a mistake when Newcastle United sold Kevin Mbabu to BSC Young Boys in 2017. Since joining the Swiss giants, the 23-year-old has been in electric form, helping his side win the title last season before going on to impress in the Champions League against the likes of Manchester United and Juventus this term. According to Swiss news outlet Blick, Mbabu could be on the move in the summer for just £5.3million, so it is no surprise to see a number of Newcastle fans urging the club to re-sign the right-back. Mbabu would definitely be a very good signing for Newcastle. Not just because he is a former player of theirs, but because of how well he has played since joining Young Boys and the lack of consistency shown by Javier Manquillo and DeAndre Yedlin. Unfortunately, Mbabu might not want to return to St James’ Park. He’s had one spell there and it didn’t work out, he may not be convinced he’d get a chance if he is re-signed.
