Newcastle United need a new playmaker to arrive in January to make Rafa Benitez’s job easier and there are a few better options for them to pursue then Queens Park Rangers midfielder Luke Freeman.

The 26-year-old has been in top form for the London club this season and has been involved in 10 goals in the 27 outings he has made across all competitions.

Freeman has fantastic creative vision and is a slick passer of the ball so is regularly creating chances for his teammates in order to make QPR look like an impressive attacking force.

The playmaker isn’t just having a good one off season either as the 26-year-old also dazzled in his 2017/18 campaign where he was a vital assist machine for his side as he created 13 goals in 45 league outings.

It’s also easy to imagine Freeman being able to step up to the Premier League as he does seem capable of having another level in him and this means the Magpies should look to snap him up in January.

Benitez’s side are crying out for a new No.10 capable of giving Salomon Rondon the service he deserves and you feel Freeman is exactly what they are looking for.

According to Football.London, the in-form midfielder is likely to attract interest and QPR could be tempted into selling him if the right offer is made.

While the Magpies would have to propose a deal worthy of tempting the London club given that Sky Sports previously reported that Freeman cost QPR just £300,000 in 2017, it might not be too much of an ask for Mike Ashley to sanction on offer which would get accepted.

As even an offer in the region of £5million is worth while for all those involved and it would see Benitez get a playmaker within his budget who can actually make a difference at St James Park.
