If there is one player who has thoroughly disappointed this season for Newcastle United, it would most definitely be Ayoze Perez.

He is a shadow of the player who shone for the club last season when they finished tenth in the Premier League, and fans have no doubt called for him to be replaced by someone else.

Yes, the Magpies did sign Yoshinori Muto in the summer – a player who can also operate as a secondary striker – but United must take their search elsewhere.

A player they must consider swooping for is Francisco Antonio Trincao, who currently plays for Liga NOS outfit Braga.

According to the Sun, Wolves are in the hunt for the talented 19-year-old, but it is United who should win the race for his services in this current transfer window.

Despite the fact that Trincao has not netted so far this season, you only have to look back at him winning the Golden Boot for Portugal in the European Under-19 Championships last summer.

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo holds the youngster in high regard, which does not come as a surprise after his exploits for the under-20s last summer.

He  has only made a couple of appearances in Braga’s first team, but he is a hot-prospect that Newcastle need to swiftly snap up, as he is the ideal replacement for the underperforming Perez.

There are only so many chances that Benitez is going to give the Spaniard – and if Trincao joined forces, it would surely spell the end of his career on Tyneside.

The report states that the player is the subject of a £13.5million race between Wolves, Inter Milan and Juventus – but there is no reason why Newcastle could not join in on the act.

In fact, Benitez needs to go all out to sign Trincao, as he really would put Perez to shame.

Newcastle fans would be drooling at the thought of him joining – so over to you, Rafa.
