It is hard not to agree with this section of Newcastle fans in their verdict of Joselu in the 4-2 win over Blackburn in this third round replay. Yes, admittedly he did score one of the goals – that should have been offside mind you – but that does not shy away from the fact that his overall play was abysmal. One fan commented on how he has not seen anyone look less of a professional player than Joselu is, which indicates just how poor the Spaniard was on Tuesday. That being said, one even joked that Newcastle should play goalkeeper Karl Darlow up front instead of Joselu, which shows just how ineffective he was last night. Despite the fact that the Magpies did progress to the next round, Joselu did not deserve to be on the pitch, and it is baffling to see why Salomon Rondon was not brought on in extra time to make more of an impact.
