COMMENTARY
Ayoze Perez is regularly at the brunt of Newcastle United fans’ criticism and that was once again the case in the first half against West Ham. The 25-year-old had several opportunities to make a difference for his side in the first 45 minutes but he didn’t take any of them. As one fan tweeted it is stressful to watch Perez as he does so much right, up until his final ball. There were few times where you feel a confident Perez would have scored as opportunities were put on a plate for him, but that isn’t the case. The attacker has struggled to find form all season and you wonder if Rafa Benitez signs a new No.10 in January whether the Spaniard should be preparing for life on the bench. However luckily for him, January isn’t upon us just yet and if Perez can find a bit of form, supporters as well as Benitez may soon be praising his name again.
