Newcastle United, Fulham and Brighton are all in the hunt to sign Bordeaux forward Francois Kamano, according to Calciomercato.

The Italian publication report that the Premier League trio all have the 5ft 11in tall wide-forward (Source: Transfermarkt) in their sights after his blistering start to the season.

Calciomercato report that Kamano has scored five goals in his first seven league outings for the Ligue 1 club so far in the current campaign.

OPINION

The 22-year-old, who can play as a winger on either flank or as a centre-forward, is in red-hot form across all competitions this season and would easily aid the Magpies’ cause if recruited in January. Kamano aside from scoring five league goals, has also scored two while creating two in six appearances in the qualification stages of the Europa League this season. With the Magpies struggling for goals in the early stages of the season, the in-form attacker has no doubt caught their eye for a good reason. The only issue is that given his impressive performances, the level of competition the Magpies already face for his signature and the fact Bordeaux are likely to demand a high price for their 22-year-old then it’s hard to imagine Rafa Benitez welcoming him to St James Park anytime soon. Kamano is exactly the type of player needed at the Magpies but given their past record in the transfer window, the Magpies splashing the cash to get him seems unlikely.
