Newcastle fans react to Rondon injury confirmation

Newcastle United have confirmed that injured striker Salomon Rondon will miss their clash with Leicester City, and many raging fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news.

As reported on the club’s official website, the Venezuela international will miss the match with the thigh injury he sustained against Crystal Palace, with the issue to be assessed by medical staff.

OPINION

These Newcastle fans seem pretty annoyed about Rondon’s continued fitness problems, and they need to be a bit more patient with the Venezuela international. Rondon has admittedly suffered a few niggles since his arrival from West Brom, but it is still early in the season and he must be given time to get up to speed. Once that happens then it is likely he will stay fit throughout the season, with his injury record with the Baggies being very good. The main problem among fans here seems to be the exits of Dwight Gayle and Aleksandar Mitrovic, who are both playing very well for their new clubs. Gayle is banging in goals on a regular basis in the Championship for West Brom while Mitrovic is also scoring regularly for Fulham. That is frustrating to watch for Newcastle fans, but the fact is that both players are gone for now and they must deal with what they have. Rondon is a good option, he just needs time to recover and get up to speed.
