Stan Collymore simply responded with ‘Ashley Out’ when asked what needed to change at Newcastle United.

The former Premier League player was asked via his personal Twitter account what his thoughts were on the Magpies and what needed to change at the club.

Collymore’s two-word response suggested that he thought Magpies owner Mike Ashley needed to leave the club in order for things to get better.

OPINION

Newcastle fans will love this simple and elegant response by Collymore as the majority, if not all, agree that it’s time for Ashley to go. The outspoken pundit will no doubt have Magpies supporters singing his praises in order to show him that they wholeheartedly agree with his opinion. However it’s unknown whether Ashley will leave his position as owner anytime soon as there hasn’t been much, if any, news about a potential buyer emerging. Although The Shields Gazette reported recently that Ashley was willing to lower his valuation of the club to £300million which hopefully sees potential buyers come flooding in. Hopefully that ends up being the case but then until Ashley sells, every report that emerges about a potential takeover is treated with scepticism. Aside from the Magpies’ off-field issues, manager Rafa Benitez will now be hoping to gives fans something to cheer by guiding his side to their first victory of the season against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
