Some Newcastle United fans reacted to the club’s reported interest in BSC Young Boys defender Kevin Mbabu by wishing for the Magpies to sign him.
According to Marca the Magpies are one of five teams pursuing the pacey right-back with Fulham, Real Betis, Valencia and Girona all keeping an eye on his situation.
The 23-year-old speed demon was a Magpies player until last summer when he was sold to BSC Young Boys, while at the Swiss giants the Mbabu has impressed many people and even helped his side lift the league title.
One Magpies supporter tweeted that the club should have never gotten rid of him and shared that they would love to see him back.

OPINION
Based on this selection of Magpies fans reaction then Mbabu would be given a very warm welcome if he was to return to St James Park this summer. The 23-year-old has really made the role of right-back his own while at the Swiss giants and is still capable of playing as a left-back which was the position he was used in at the Magpies. It’s easy to imagine the defender using his blistering pace to aid the Magpies’ attack while also doing his defensive duties at the back if recruited. The 23-year-old has unfinished business at St James Park as he was riddled with injuries during his time which stopped him cementing a place in Rafa Benitez’s first-team.
