Newcastle United have had an offer for RSC Anderlecht attacker Isaac Kiese Thelin accepted, according to HLN.

The Belgian newspaper claim that the Magpies aren’t the only side to have a bid for the 6ft 2in tall forward accepted (Source: Transfermarkt) as Lokomotiv Moscow have also seen their offer approved.

HLN report that the two clubs bid somewhere between 5million euros (£4.45million) and 6million euros (£5.3million) in order to try and proceed in their attempts to sign Thelin.

It is believed that Anderlecht were very happy to receive offers for their attacker, despite him scoring 19 goals last season, as he does not feature in the club’s plans for the upcoming season.

OPINION

Thelin was involved with 24 goals during his 2017/18 campaign with Anderlecht as not only did he impressively score 19 in his 39 outings, he also registered five assists. The 26-year-old could be just what Rafa Benitez is looking for this summer as his stats from last season do imply that he will boost the club’s current attacking threat. Given Thelin’s size and ability to use his physical frame to his advantage, the Magpies could well have found a new capable target man if he rocks up at St James Park anytime soon. The only question mark regarding the forward who has 24 caps for Sweden is whether he’ll be able to adapt to the Premier League. However given Thelin’s skill set and that he has excelled in the Sweden’s, Belgian’s and France’s top-divisions during his career, he does seem capable of being a natural in English football if given an opportunity. The only issue regarding his potential capture is that the Magpies have to see off Lokomotiv Moscow in order to get his signature.
