Some Newcastle United fans took to social media in order to react to Rolando Aarons not being given a squad number ahead of the new season.
The Magpies officially confirmed their squad numbers for the 2018/19 campaign on their website on Friday and there was no mention of the 5ft 8in tall winger (Transfermarkt).
This caused several Magpies fans to tweet their concern over Aarons not being handed a shirt number with one claiming that they personally thought he deserved more chances at the club.

OPINION
It seems several fans were disappointed by the news that Aarons hadn’t been handed a squad number ahead of the 2018/19 season getting underway. One supporter found it a shame that the 22-year-old’s lack of squad number seemed to suggest that he was on his way as he once showed so much potential. It’s hard to argue with this view as the pacey Aarons originally burst on to the scene with the Magpies and look like having a bright future. However after scoring four, while assisting three, in 27 appearances for the Magpies’ senior team the winger looks like being some way off featuring in Benitez’s plans anytime soon. With the summer transfer window for English clubs shut it seems that Aarons either has to secure a loan to a side in the English football league or get a permanent transfer to a club abroad in order to regularly play next season. One Magpies fan suggested that he was on course to be loaned to a Championship side and if that turns out to be the case, maybe he can get his career back on track by taking England’s second-tier by storm.
