Some Newcastle United fans took to social media in order to react to Sky Sports’ report about the current situation regarding Aleksandar Mitrovic’s possible move to Fulham.

The broadcaster reported via their website that the Cottagers were only currently willing to pay £16million for Mitrovic with the Magpies wishing for them to pay £18million for the attacker.

The news of the two Premier League clubs being yet to reach an agreement, with talks still ongoing, for Mitrovic caused a section of Magpies to tweet their frustration about the club’s transfer dealings.

One Magpies fan tweeted that supporters had seen this type of story before and they suggested that the club would run out of time to reach a deal for the player’s exit before the window shuts.

Nothing But Newcastle has rounded up a selection of tweets about the current situation regarding Fulham’s attempt to sign Mitrovic:

OPINION

While Magpies supporters seem divided on what is causing them to be frustrated over Mitrovic’s potential sale, they’re all seem to be agitated by Sky Sports’ latest report on negotiations.  It’s intriguing that one fan even opts to inadvertently blame Rafa Benitez for why Fulham won’t stump up the case as he claims everyone knows Mitrovic isn’t wanted by the current Magpies manager. It’s hard to argue that the Cottagers no doubt feel they have all the cards as the player clearly enjoyed his recent loan spell at Craven Cottage, but clearly the Premier League new boys know they need a new striker before the window shuts. While they may be aware that Mitrovic is unwanted at St James Park, if they can’t agree a deal for him then they will be the ones who suffer.
