Lejeune doing his cruciate just after we sell a centre back is peak Newcastle United. I shouldn’t even be surprised.

Gutted. Him and Lacelles were class together. Maybe take a punt on Ryan Shawcross? Not long left in his contract. Stoke be looking to get high wages off the books and he has years of EPL experience. Albeit a few bad games here and there

Genuinely devistated… He's look d excellent whenever I've seen him, and as a whole, that back line has looked far stronger with him there…

OPINION
Losing Lejeune is a huge blow for Newcastle, with the French enforcer forming such a strong partnership with Jamaal Lascelles last season, and these fans are suitably devastated by this setback. Defence was an area where Newcastle rarely struggled last term, and losing one of the key reasons for that will take some recovering from. However, the Magpies are not in a disastrous position. They have just signed Fabian Schar from Deportivo La Coruna, and the Switzerland international will surely now step into the first-team to replace Lejeune. It is understandable that Benitez wants to bring in another central defender on top of that, and hopefully the club can secure someone on the cheap in the coming days to help them get past this blow.
