Some Newcastle United fans on social media reacted to the club reportedly being in the race to sign Manchester City midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko.
The Daily Star reported that the Magpies were competing with Wolves for the 21-year-old who is able to play in a variety of positions for his side.
One Magpies fan claimed that it would be an extremely good signing for Rafa Benitez to make as Zinchenko can play in a a few different positions, while another stated it would be an outstanding move to recruit the Ukrainian international.

OPINION
Magpies supporters are generally thrilled at the prospect of their club being interested in Man City’s Zinchenko and it’s hard to blame them. The 21-year-old played eight times in the Premier League for Pep Guardiola’s side last season and looked a capable left-back in England’s top-flight. However Zinchenko is naturally an exciting midfield talent who can play on either flank as well as be deployed as an attacking or defensive midfielder. The promising talent’s versatility would see him be granted several first-team opportunities at St James Park if welcomed and he is more than capable of exciting fans due to his dazzling abilities. If the Magpies were able to pip Wolves to Zinchenko’s signature then it would be fantastic news for Benitez’s side as he is likely to take the Premier League by storm sooner rather than later.
