Newcastle United are days away from announcing a loan deal for Chelsea’s Brazilian winger Kenedy, and some Newcastle fans are having a field day on social media after hearing the reported update.

Lee Clayton, who is a reliable and trusted journalist from the Dail Mail, made the revelation regarding the 22-year-old on their official Twitter account.

Many fans were thrilled to hear the update as they have been keen to see the midfielder return to St James’ Park following a successful loan stint with the Magpies last time out.

One fan reverently exclaimed “Hallelujah,” while another made up their own rendition of England’s football anthem, Football’s Coming Home after hearing the reported update.

Here is a selection of some of the best reactions on social media:

OPINION:

Kenedy was an instant hit at St James’ Park and despite the fact that statistically speaking he was not hugely prolific, having notched up just two goals and two assists in 13 Premier League games for the Magpies, it was his overall game and influence on his teammates that earnt him plaudits from supporters. The Brazilian was involved in everything that was good about Rafa Benitez’ side following the close of the January transfer window and fans will be expecting more of the same again when he does finally become confirmed as a Newcastle player. The only cause for concern is the question surrounding the terms he would be arriving on as the Magpies faithful want to see this loan deal turn permanent.
