Newcastle United have opened talks with Stoke City over a £14million deal for midfield enforcer Badou N’Diaye, according to Fanatik.

The Turkish outlet report that Galatasaray president Fatih Terim is keen on a return for the 27-year-old Senegal international, who left the club for the Potters in January.

Fanatik claim that N’Diaye wants to continue his career in the Premier League following Stoke’s relegation, and a fee of £14million would seal the deal for Newcastle.

Good move for Newcastle United?

Absolutely.

N’Diaye impressed during his short spell at Stoke, with his combative abilities in the middle of the park essential for any Premier League side looking to climb the table.

The Senegal international is a powerful presence in midfield, and Newcastle could do with such a player if they want to challenge for a European place next season.

£14million for an international midfielder is a steal in today’s market, and the Magpies would do extremely well to seal this one quickly before other sides start sniffing.

Likely to happen?

It looks like Newcastle are putting themselves in a good position to sign N’Diaye, but a return to Galatasaray where he had a successful spell will surely be appealing for the 27-year-old.

However, it does state that he is interested in a move back up to the Premier League, and with the Magpies seemingly the only side in talks currently, they do seem to be at the front of the queue.

Progress will surely be on hold for now with N’Diaye currently at the World Cup, but things should start moving forward following his return to the UK.
