Newcastle United must not allow Aleksandar Mitrovic to dictate his future as the Magpies need to get every penny they can from his sale.

The 23-year-old powerhouse is jeopardising his price tag if the latest exclusive report by TEAMTalk about the Magpies trying to sell Mitrovic in this window is accurate.

The football outlet claim that Mitrovic is insisting a deal can be reached for him to join Fulham and that he has told the Magpies’ hierarchy that he won’t play for Rafa Benitez’s side again if they price him out of a move to Craven Cottage.

The same report states that the Magpies are demanding a fee in the region of £30million for their forward but that Fulham are not willing to pay anymore than £20million for him.

This means that the Magpies could potentially miss out on £10million due to Mitrovic’s toxic attitude and determination to move to the Cottagers.

While £30million is a mouthwatering amount for the Magpies to demand for the powerhouse, there’s probably a club out there willing to pay it.

Mitrovic was in sensational form in the second half of his 2017/18 campaign when on loan at Fulham, scoring 12 goals in 20 outings, and has continued to impress while at the World Cup with Serbia.

The powerful forward has scored one goal in his two appearances at the tournament so far and that has no doubt caused several clubs to consider making a move for him.

Especially as according to a previous report by the Chronicle, Marseille, Bordeaux, Anderlecht, Brighton and Hove Albion and Wolves were already thought to be interested in him alongside Fulham.

The Magpies must stop reports of this nature emerging and must call Mitrovic’s bluff over any threat to refuse to play for them by saying they’d let him rot in reserves as his stubbornness could see the club get £10million less then the amount they’re aiming to get.
