Newcastle United should jump at the chance to sell winger Rolando Aarons and must entice an offer out of West Bromwich Albion.

The Daily Mirror report that the Baggies are considering making a bid for the pacey 22-year-old winger after missing out on signing Bobby Reid from Bristol City.

This news should have the Magpies picking up the phone in order to make signing Aarons a tempting prospect for the Championship side as his exit seems like a smart decision at this point.

The 22-year-old has made a total 27 appearances for the Magpies in his career but after showing promise to break into the first-team in 2014, he has done nothing but regress as a player.

Aarons has failed to kick-on in his career and hasn’t made the most of his raw potential in recent campaigns.

The speedster spent the second-half of the 2017/18 season on loan at Serie A’s Hellas Verona and had a terrible time by all accounts.

Aarons made only 11 appearances for the Italian club and didn’t score or register an assist during his brief spell with them as they went on to suffer relegation from Italy’s top-flight.

While his potential may have once looked promising given how far off he is of being capable of being good enough to be a first-team regular and the fact he is now 22-year-old and should be fulfilling more of his talent, the Magpies would be wise to sell him while the interest is there.

The funds from his sale, as a respectable fee is achievable, could aid Benitez’s quest to improve the first-team this season as he will have a slightly improved transfer budget following Aaron’s departure.

Also as the 22-year-old only made four Premier League appearances for the Magpies last season then his exit wouldn’t drastically affect the quality of the first-team squad.

There are unlikely to be many suitors for Aarons due to his performances in the recent season and he isn’t likely to be one of the most talked about transfer targets on the Transfer Hound, so the Magpies must go out of their way to encourage the Baggies’ interest in him.

Therefore Benitez must allow the speedster to exit the club in this window and the Magpies must entice the Baggies into making an offer in order to get rid of Aarons quickly.
