Rafael Benitez is expected to make plenty of changes to his Newcastle United squad this summer, potentially including some deals that may prove to be unpopular at St. James’ Park.

It’s widely reported that the Spaniard is ready to cash-in on Serbia international Aleksandar Mitrovic this summer, despite the striker’s fine form on-loan with promotion-chasing Fulham, but he could remain in the Premier League.

Birmingham LiveĀ report that Championship winners Wolves, who have sealed a return to the top-flight for next season, are keen to sign the 23-year-old, which could come back to haunt Newcastle if Benitez approves a sale.

Mitrovic has been in sensational form for Fulham since moving to Craven Cottage in January, scoring 12 goals in 16 appearances, and his services have also been courted by West Ham.

Newcastle will command a hefty fee for the striker, with those funds then used to improve the squad on Tyneside, but many believe he should get an opportunity at St. James’ Park.
