Newcastle United have exceeded their own expectations this season, fighting away from the relegation zone and now battling for a top-half finish in the Premier League, but their success has not gone unnoticed.

Rafael Benitez’s acquisition of Kenedy on-loan from Chelsea has played a huge part in the Magpies’ upturn in form and Newcastle are desperate to land the Brazil starlet on a permanent deal, although they face a major battle to win the chase.

Kenedy’s form has led to the likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain expressing interest in the breakthrough South American wide-man, who can play at wing-back or further forward, and another side have now joined the chase.

The Chronicle claims Champions League semi-finalists Liverpool are the latest side to express an interest in the 22-year-old, as Jurgen Klopp is eyeing improvements down his left side and also wants to bolster his squad’s depth.

With the Reds, along with other interested sides, being able to offer European football, Newcastle may emerge empty-handed.
