Newcastle United need to make a few marquee signings ahead of next season and supporters have their fingers crossed that the board will back the manger in the transfer window.
The Magpies could do with a high-profile addition in each third of he pitch and should turn their attention to Southampton ace Dusan Tadic for the attacking positions.
Dutch news outlet De Telegraaf reports that Eredivisie giants Ajax are interested in signing the 29-year-old from the Saints and are plotting a move for him if his side are relegated from the Premier League.
However, Newcastle should consider hijacking the reported interest in the Serbia international and try to bring him to St James’ Park.
Tadic is a versatile attacker with a wand of a left foot and has scored some eye-catching goals this season to prove it.
The creative playmaker has netted seven times in all competitions for a struggling Southampton team, but has shown he knows his way to goal and is often a great link up between the midfield and strikers.
He has been a mainstay in the side since joining in 2014 and a fresh move to a Premier League rival could help bring the best out of him.
Newcastle fans are desperate to see some serious quality arrive through the St James’ Park entrance door and the Serbian would definitely fit the bill.
Tadic’s future is surely going to come into question if Southampton do slip down into the Championship and Newcastle should be straight on the phone to prize him away if that happens.
