Newcastle United fans took to social media to calculate Aleksandar Mitrovic’s asking price after Fulham won the Championship play-off against Aston Villa on Saturday.

Magpies supporters wasted no time congratulating Fulham on winning promotion but were quick to then bring up the potential sale price of their centre-forward.

Mitrovic spent the second half of the 2017/18 season on loan at Craven Cottage and was prolific for the Championship side scoring 12 goals in 17 league appearances, not including his play-off outings.

The 23-year-old powerhouse starred in the Championship play-off final on Saturday for the Cottagers, but didn’t score, and Magpies supporters wanted to know when Fulham wanted to splash the cash on securing his services.

One fan tweeted that they wanted £30million for the forward, while another simply urged the Cottagers to open their chequebook.

The Chronicle previously claimed that Fulham would look to secure Mitrovic’s services on a permanent basis upon winning promotion and could pay a fee in the region of £15million to seal a deal for him.

However Magpies supporters were increasing the forward’s price after watching Fulham reach the promise land with him in their side.

Victory in the play-off final is thought to be worth £160million due to its effect on future revenue, as calculated by Sports Business Group at Deloitte and reported by the BBC, and Magpies fans clearly wanted Fulham to cash-in after winning Saturday’s moneyspinner.
