Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to express their disgruntlement that Chancel Mbemba has been put up for a cheap sale.
Chronicle football editor Mark Douglas reported on his personal Twitter account on Thursday morning that the defender, 23, has been transfer listed after Belgian newspaper HLN reported that Newcastle have offered Mbemba and goalkeeper Matz Sels to Anderlecht in a £7million double deal.
The exact phrase is ‘at least’ €8m. Think #nufc would be angling for more there.
Mbemba has ‘no future’ at Newcastle they report, which tallies with my understanding.

Mbemba was a fringe player in the recently-completed domestic season, making just 13 appearances in total and failing to make the matchday squad on a single occasion in the second half of the campaign.
The Congo international is a popular figure with supporters, who admire his commitment and defensive skills and view him as useful back-up to first-choice centre-backs Jamaal Lascelles, Florian Lejeune and Ciaran Clark.
Newcastle fans are surprised that the club are willing to offload Mbemba for what appears a bargain price, especially as they paid £8million to sign him from Anderlecht in the summer of 2015.
The reaction to the possibility of a cut-price sale in a package deal with Sels – who is worth around £5.8million, valuing Mbemba at just £1.2million – was not positive, with one claiming it was “shocking” and another arguing it “seems very low”.
Nothing But Newcastle has rounded up some of the best tweets:
€8m for both is a shocking deal. Didnt we pay £8m for mbemba on his own? Maybe a loan deal to someone would be better, his value would undoubtedly go up when playing regularly.

£6 million for both seems very low

Mbemba’s worth more then €8 million on his own & that’s regardless to whether he gets in our starting 11 or not!

Anderlecht must be pretty skint if they’re turning their nose at that, absolute bargain!!! I thought they might of been interested in Mitro as well.

That’s €4m each?! Sels maybe worth €4m but surely Mbemba is worth €8m on his own?

Mbemba definitely worth 8 on his own. Hasn’t Selz had a really good season on loan too? Should be closer to 15m imo.
I guess anything added to the budget and decrease in wage bill is attractive at this point if Rafa wants them both out

Seems cheap but there seems to be a suggestion that this is a minimum. I think Mbemba is probably worth that on his own.
