Newcastle United have seen a major upturn in form since January, with the additions of loanees Kenedy and Martin Dubravka proving to be another masterstroke from Rafael Benitez.

The latter has proven to be a key asset between the sticks, excelling on his debut against Manchester United, whilst Chelsea-owned Brazilian starlet Kenedy has caught the eye with his electric performances down the left flank.

Newcastle are keen to sign the 22-year-old on a permanent deal this summer following his fine performances and Arsenal icon Ian Wright has praised the South American for a very mature decision, opting to leave Stamford Bridge for Tyneside in search of more regular action.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live Wright said:

“For me, Newcastle is the kind of place that if you’re a young player at a club like a Chelsea or a Manchester City, I would do anything to get to somewhere like Newcastle. You’re playing in front of massive crowds and you’ve got the opportunity to play in the Premier League and get that kind of support and Kenedy has done it – and he’s thriving on it.”

Kenedy has expressed an interest in potentially making his move to Newcastle permanent at the end of the season, although it likely depends on Chelsea’s managerial situation and whether the potential arrival of a new boss will hand the starlet fresh opportunities to impress.
