Newcastle United are set for a busy period at the end of the season as Rafael Benitez looks to bolster his side for what will hopefully be another campaign in the Premier League.

The Magpies sit four points above the relegation zone heading into the final few months of the Premier League season and are optimistic about their chances of survival, though significant work is needed this summer to improve the team.

Benitez was forced to exploit the loan market in January, signing Martin Dubravka, Islam Slimani and Kenedy, but has dropped a major hint regarding his future when speaking to The Chronicle as he discussed the club’s transfer plans.

In his comments, Benitez reiterated his desire to capture a variety of players and representatives at the club will be present at this summer’s World Cup. When asked about the plan’s for the summer, Benitez said:

“We have a lot of information already. All the scouts watch a lot of games during the week which is what they have done from day one, it’s very common.”

“We’ve got the World Cup coming up and other tournaments. Of course, the majority of teams also have that. But we have the stats and TV so we are watching all of the time.”
