Newcastle continue to be active in the transfer market as we enter the final week of the mid-season window and a number of names are being mentioned- some of which are a lot more exciting than others.
One of those being named is Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, a 21-year-old striker who has caught the eye north of the border but who has struggled to find his feet this season due to injuries. Still, a return of eight goals with just 11 starts all season is a decent return.
Dembele has already proven his calibre since moving to the Scottish champions, scoring more than 40 goals for Brendan Rodgers’ record-breaking side, and a number of top sides have been attributed with an interest in his services.
Hamstring injuries this season have largely brought an end to that interest but Newcastle should definitely make a move, as the young forward can provide a massive boost to the club and would also give fans plenty of reasons to be excited.
Having the calibre to become one of the finest strikers in Europe in the coming years, Newcastle would have to part with a fairly large sum to secure his services but they should be able to earn vast profit further down the line.
Despite his injuries, a return of eight goals this season eclipses the tally of any striker currently on Newcastle’s books and he will certainly improve the fortunes of a side who have scored just 22 goals in 23 Premier League matches this term.
