Newcastle United are poised for a busy and potentially exciting end to the January transfer window, as Rafael Benitez’s side seek additional recruits.
The Magpies landed their first signing of the January window this week after the capture of Brazilian starlet Kenedy on-loan from Chelsea but Benitez is eyeing at least two more players, with his priority being a new striker.
Newcastle have scored just 22 goals in 23 matches this season and Mike Ashley is ready to approve a club-record deal to improve the misfiring forward lines, with the prime target appearing to be Feyenoord’s Nicolai Jorgensen.
The 27-year-old netted 21 goals for the Eredivisie side last season as they won the title but faces an uncertain future at the club following Robin Van Persie’s return to his hometown side- and Jorgensen is said to be keen on a transfer to Newcastle.
That’s certainly exciting news and Newcastle should remain with their eyes cast on Dutch football, as these three players would also be sensational recruits.
