Newcastle United may well reignite their interest in a Premier League forward with his services set to be made available in January.

The SunĀ reports that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is poised to allow Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi to leave the club on-loan in the New Year, as he seeks a fresh attacking signing to improve his side’s fortunes.

Newcastle were amongst a number of clubs linked with the services of the former Marseille man in the summer and remain on the market for a striker, whilst a loan deal could suit their financial situation as takeover talks rumble on.

With no clear end in sight, it’s likely that Mike Ashley will remain in charge of the finances once the window opens and may limit the amount given to Rafael Benitez in the New Year, which makes loan deals appealing for the Magpies.

Batshuayi himself is likely to be open to a move as he seeks regular football ahead of the World Cup next summer, where he faces a wealth of competition to earn a spot in Roberto Martinez’s Belgium side.
