Newcastle United could face a wealth of activity in the January transfer window and not all of it will be incoming deals, with the Magpies likely to see some exits too.

Rafael Benitez has a number of fringe players within the squad he’s looking to offload and the Spanish boss may also consider other sales, as he seeks to raise the funds he will be able to spend in the New Year.

According to a report cited by The Shields GazetteRolando Aarons is attracting the interest of Premier League duo Huddersfield Town and Crystal Palace, whilst Championship outfit Aston Villa are also interested in his services.

The 22-year-old missed the entirety of last season through injury and has sat on the outside of Benitez’s squad following promotion to the Premier League, which could lead Newcastle to consider offers for the youngster.

It remains to be seen whether a deal would be permanent or on-loan but it’s crucial that Aarons gets first-team experience, particularly following his lengthy spell on the sidelines.
