Newcastle United have a huge six weeks ahead of them and the January transfer window could be extremely busy, with both incoming and outgoing deals.

Reports in Belgium state out-of-favour striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is interested in a return to Anderlecht, with his former employers keen on a loan move for the Serbian striker in January.

The 23-year-old has found himself behind Dwight Gayle and Joselu in the pecking order at St. James’ Park, which is a huge blow to the young striker as he’s seeking to cement his spot in Serbia’s World Cup squad next summer.

Newcastle are prepared to let the striker leave in January, with Rafael Benitez looking to secure incoming signatures to bolster the Magpies’ front-line, and have changed their views since the summer, now willing to consider loan moves as well as a permanent transfer.

Clubs in Turkey and Russia are also being attributed with interest in the striker, though his preference would be to earn first-team football and remain on Tyneside.
