Newcastle’s impending takeover won’t interfere for a January move for out-of-favour Liverpool striker Danny Ings, reports the Daily Star.

Rafael Benitez is looking to add firepower to his Newcastle attack this winter, with his current trio of strikers Alexandr Mitrovic, Joselu and Dwight Gayle managing only 4 goals between them in all competitions this season.

Ings, who has been with Liverpool since the summer of 2015, has been limited to only 11 appearances through injury during his time at Anfield, however now back to near full fitness, he could be allowed to leave Merseyside to gain some much needed playing time, with Newcastle leading the charge for his signature.

There were fears that the club’s impending takeover could impact any potential deals over the winter period with fellow clubs unwilling to deal with a club in a state of financial transition, but it is now understood Liverpool would still be willing to see Ings move to St James Park after the New Year, albeit only on a temporary basis.

The Reds are keen to loan out Ings in order to prepare him for a return to first team football, with manager Jurgen Klopp still seeing the Englishman as part of his plans at Anfield.
