Newcastle United are preparing to splash the cash in January, with the Magpies potentially having plenty to spend following a takeover, and fans have been discussing the rumours on social media.
Rafael Benitez is reportedly looking to strengthen his squad in a number of areas and reports suggest a new goalkeeper is on his short-list, with the Magpies looking to land 28-year-old Dutchman Jasper Cillessen from Barcelona.
Fans are unsure on the links though, as they believe that the club’s priority should be to land a new striker- with the Magpies scoring just three goals in five Premier League matches, whilst their top goal-scorers are Joselu and Jamaal Lascelles on just two apiece.
They’ve expressed their feelings towards the reports on social media and it’s clear a new goalkeeper doesn’t top their wish-list, regardless of what Benitez himself thinks, and they’re calling for a new striker to come in first.
