Caretaker Everton boss David Unsworth has responded to comments over his weight from former Newcastle star Joey Barton, saying he ‘doesn’t care’ what the now TalkSPORT pundit has to say.
Barton, who described Unsworth as a ‘glorified PE teacher’ said on TalkSPORT: “He’s chirping himself up for the job. He’s saying ‘I’m the man and I can take Everton on’. He’s not.
“It’s a fraudulent claim. He’s not ready. He hasn’t gone and worked down the levels yet.
“He is not good enough to manage Everton at this moment in time.
“If he goes away, works down the levels, proves he deserves an opportunity – look, I’m not saying don’t give him the job because he’s overweight…”
Barton was slammed by fellow TalkSPORT host Jim White on Twitter for the remarks over Unsworth weight, however it doesn’t seem to have fazed the Evertonian legend one bit.
I like and respect @Joey7Barton, but bringing Unsworth's weight into the debate is bang out of order. Join me from 10 @talkSPORT.

“It’s not a problem what Joey Barton says” said Unsworth: “I couldn’t care less.”
