Newcastle United have been handed a huge bid ahead of the January transfer window, with a prime target seemingly available.

Turkish outlet Aspor quote Besiktas president Fikret Orman as opening the door for a January move for in-form striker Cenk Tosun, who has emerged as a prime target for Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle as they seek to remain in the Premier League.

“Cenk Tosun is like a diamond, a part of our family. If the conditions are right for Besiktas and the player, we will speak as of that day… There is no official offer to me at the moment.”

Tosun has been in electric form this season, scoring four goals in as many Champions League games, and Newcastle are reportedly set to send scouts to watch the Turkish international in action once again this week against Porto.

The player, however, is reported to want to stay in Istanbul until the summer as he seeks to win another league title with Besiktas.
