Jonjo Shelvey
With England facing a midfield crisis after losing the likes of Jordan Henderson, Harry Winks and Dele Alli to injury, a logical step was to bleed Jonjo Shelvey back into the national side. Instead, Gareth Southgate looked elsewhere.
England have a severe lack of ball playing midfielders at their disposal and Shelvey is arguably amongst the best of them all, particularly with Jack Wilshere struggling for playing time at Arsenal. As such, he should be a shoe-in for the squad.
