Captain of Newcastle, Jamaal Lascelles has been one of the stand-out players for the Magpies this season and has made an impact at both ends of the field, currently tied for the club’s top-scorer honour with two goals to his name.
Now 23, Lascelles was set to miss out on the England squad through injury anyway but it seems that Gareth Southgate wasn’t looking at the defender. That’s certainly a wrong decision as Lascelles can offer a lot to the national side.
