Newcastle United have done well so far in their return to the Premier League, with ten points to their name after seven matches, putting them a quarter of the way to their target of 40 points- which should be enough to secure their safety from relegation.
The Magpies do find themselves in a somewhat turbulent position though as Mike Ashley has made it clear he’s open to selling his majority stake in the club, whilst Rafael Benitez’ future continues to be drawn into speculation following clashes with the board during the summer.
Spanish boss Benitez didn’t get the money to spend that he wanted to in the summer and will demand a handful of cash to get business done in the mid-season break, where he’ll be eyeing quality additions that can provide a huge boost to his side.
