Newcastle United have enjoyed a fantastic start to life back in the Premier League, sitting seventh in the table after nine matches and certainly keeping their head above water.
Stern tests remain around the corner for the Magpies, who face Burnley this weekend and see that clash followed by matches against Bournemouth and Manchester United, but there’s a growing sense of optimism at the club.
Much of this is due to the ongoing takeover talk concerning the Magpies, with Mike Ashley recently putting the club up for sale and aiming to complete a deal before the festive season- which would hand Newcastle a timely boost.
Rafael Benitez was left frustrated in the summer due to a perceived lack of funds and any new owners will have to keep the Spaniard content, which means handing him money to spend- and reports suggest he’s looking at options in Italy.
