Newcastle United have started well in their return to the Premier League but there’s still a lot of work to be done for Rafael Benitez’ side and this weekend’s clash with Crystal Palace kicks-off a crucial run of fixtures for the Magpies.
The Spaniard’s side welcome the rock-bottom Eagles to St. James’ Park this week, although Roy Hodgson’s men will have received a boost from their surprise victory over Chelsea last weekend, before travelling to Burnley and hosting Bournemouth on Tyneside.
A run of form over those three matches would significantly boost Newcastle and push the club further away from the relegation battle but a sequence of poor results could swiftly change the scene for the Magpies, who’d plummet down the table.
Newcastle will certainly fancy their chances this weekend against Crystal Palace but the team selection needs to be spot-on, which means this trio surely must start for the Magpies.
