Newcastle United have been performing above expectations in the Premier League so far this season and will be looking to build upon that over the remainder of the campaign, where the January transfer window will be crucial.
The Magpies are currently riding a wave of optimism that has washed over St. James’ Park over the course of the past month, with controversial owner Mike Ashley putting the club up for sale and hoping to conclude a deal before the festive season.
That will leave fans dreaming of better times and better players but Rafael Benitez will be looking to keep the club’s feet rooted to the ground, not looking to blow his budget in one load on high-profile signings and instead focusing on deals that will provide a decent boost.
For this reason, and the fact it will be easier to lure these players to Tyneside, Newcastle may well look towards the Championship for January signings- and these three players should certainly be top of Newcastle’s wish-list.
