Newcastle United find themselves in a testing position at the moment, with a potential takeover in the works after chairman Mike Ashley made it apparent he’s open to selling his majority stake in the club- as long as whoever comes in is able to push the side forward.
Ashley’s ownership on Tyneside has certainly been controversial, with a stand-out moment including the renaming of St. James’ Park, and the majority of fans will certainly be pleased to see the back of him. However, any takeover is always a difficult situation.
Whoever comes in will have to make a number of promises if they are to win over the fans, as well as Rafael Benitez, and there’s no easy solution. That said, the fans and Benitez will have some demands that can be met quite comfortably.
